The Guide

Christopher Boffoli - Champaigne Set Cards

Big Appetites Notecards - Champagne Set

Northwest-based artist Christopher Boffoli creates clever photographic vignettes. His process is combining miniature, hand-painted figurines from Germany with staged arrangements of food and beverages.

He is inspired by an unusual combination of magazine food photography and the 18th century fable “Gulliver’s Travels.” Boffoli explores how inverting the proportions of people and their surroundings creates unexpected points of interest.

Victoria Villasana Prints

Bowie Fashion | Victoria Villasana (bigcartel.com)

Victoria Villasana resides in Mexico after living in London for over a decade. She cites her experience in these different cultures as inspirational in her work, describing her art as a “symbiosis of cultures.” Her trademark pieces, portraits embellished with yarn and pasted up on London streets, mix indigenous Mexican and western art and deliver a healthy dose of rebellious femininity.

Jessica Biales Print Scarfs

Jessica Biales - Scarfs

“The corner of 78th and Madison was a favorite spot of mine for years because of the Missoni store. It was always a treat to see the genius use of color and pattern in their luxurious knits. I have woven the graphic lines of a crosswalk, wheel of a car with hints of the magnificent color and pattern of Missoni. 100% Silk.” - Jessica Biales

Jessica Lichtenstein “Light My Fire” Candle

"Light My Fire" Black matte with gold print — Jessica Lichtenstein

Using the female body as a mechanism to explore deeper themes of power, female representation, fetishism and objectification, usually in an ironic and cheerful way, Lichtenstein’s work embodies the very paradox she is trying to explore. Her work consciously plays with the boundaries of power, commercialization, consumerism, fantasy and propriety, provoking tensions that challenge the viewer to confront his or her own gaze.
